Ideally Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation technique should be learnt at a First Aid or ‘Basic Life Support’ (BLS) training session, but it is possible to gain basic knowledge of Hands-Only CPR (also known as COLS: Compression-Only Life Support) by watching videos.
However, this has to be followed up by practicing CPR hands-on at home. Since a mannequin would not be available at home, practicing may be done by including a friend or family member.
A bystander would have better confidence if he or she had at least watched a video and practiced Hands-Only CPR.
Performing some CPR, even if clumsily, is better than doing nothing at all, since the outcome in the latter case is death. Time and again, untrained bystanders have saved lives of Sudden Cardiac Attack (SCA) victims. In view of this, do watch the videos presented hereunder.
